A Heartfelt Thank You

On behalf of Ironworkers Local 8, a heartfelt thank you for your presence at the Iron Sharpens Iron Event. Your participation made the day truly special as we collectively marked the 25th anniversary of the "Big Blue" crane accident and honored our fallen Ironworker Local 8 brothers: Jeffrey Wischer, William DeGrave, and Jerome Starr.

Support and solidarity among the Milwaukee and Wisconsin Building Construction Trades was evident and powerful. It was a day filled with deep reflections, meaningful tributes, and the celebration of the resilience and craftsmanship of the building construction trades.

Together, we paid tribute to those we lost and also celebrated the strength and unity of our community. Coming together for such a special occasion, alongside the family and loved ones of our fallen brothers, was truly meaningful —especially given July 14 marked the actual date of the tragic accident 25 years ago.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the entire Brewers organization, all our speakers, sponsors, attendees, volunteers, leadership, vendors and those behind the scenes, who made this event possible.
